Music & Movement Classes for Infants, Tolddlers & Preschoolers
Music Time is a music program that fosters a musical environment for young children. Families and care providers are involved in postive musical interactions through the therpatuic use of music. Weekly classses invlove musical games, movement, insturment play, and improvisation.
Music Time offers a lively, hands-on approach to learning for children in the preschool setting. This program is a music therapy/music enrichment program, focused on enhancing the learning of the child through music. Music Time uses music and music activities to provide structure for learning and create a positive learning environment where both musical and non musical concepts can be explored. Each activity, from singing songs, moving to music, signing to songs or playing instruments is created to address goals of the educational setting. Each Music Time session is approximately 30 minutes in length and designed for a class up to 15 students.
During each weekly session academic and developmental goals are addressed through music-related interventions. Some of the academic concepts incorporated into the Music Time curriculum include colors, shapes, numbers, letters, counting, rhyming, syllables, patterns and following directions. The Music Time Instructors also incorporate values goals including team work, sharing, and problem solving skills into the program. In addition to academic and value concepts, key developmental skills are addressed through the program.
The creative and hands-on approach of the “Music Time” program is instructed by a board certified music therapist from Musical Expressions LLC and designed so each child can succeed. During the program the children will benefit from Music Therapy and Music Enrichment by experiencing rhythm instruments, participating in movement activities, exploring string and wind instruments, being introduced to different styles of music, singing and vocalization. Music Time offers experiences in music, that will help to assist students in building skills that will enhance development in learning environment.
